The European Union Pact on Migration and Asylum came into force on Friday.

The plan is the culmination of years of difficult negotiations between member states on how to deal with the influx of migrants.

It introduces stricter procedures for people who want to join the EU.

Human rights groups and the left say the changes could undermine the rights of asylum seekers, but rights say the new policy does not go far enough.

So, will it stop people from seeking asylum in Europe? What side has the group’s politics taken?
