France star Kylian Mbappe has praised his compatriot and Real Madrid team-mate Aurelien Choumini, but at the same time made an indirect reference to Royal fans.
Mundo Deportivo newspaper published Mbappé’s statements during an interview with L’Equipe newspaper, where he said: “Chuamini is a great player, he is the vice-captain and he is also in a good stage of his career.”
“I think Tswamini is one of the most consistent players for Real Madrid this season,” he added.
Then came the moment that was seen as a “veiled message” to Real Madrid fans, as he explained. “When I arrived at Real, Aurelin was in a difficult situation. He was being pressured. After that he often played as a central defender, but in Madrid it doesn’t matter.”
He emphasized. “Whether you play as a central defender or a midfielder, if you don’t perform well, they won’t leave you alone. That’s the way things are. But I liked the personality with which Tshwamini handled the situation and turned it around.”
He concluded. “Tshvamini came out of that experience stronger. Now he comes in with a lot of confidence and belief in his abilities.”
