You may also need to upgrade your wiring and electrical panel and obtain a permit from your local authority. For me, here in Scotland, this means asking my network operator. The equivalent in the US is the electricity distribution company or local distribution company. They should increase your communication. I wanted a new breaker with a larger fuse to charge the EVs, battery, and air source heat pump, but the upgrade was free. Your mileage may vary, and it may take some time to get a feel for it. Your installer can do this for you.
You also need to choose an installer. I recommend shopping around, reading reviews, and finding a few articles. The Opinions of the company Greener Energy Group they installed my battery, and it was great. There was a tour to discuss the project, and the installation was completed in one day. Installers need a suitable location for the battery (mine was installed in the garage, but it’s windy, so they can be installed outside), and they need to run a cable to your main fuse board.
The EcoFlow PowerOcean system was popular for its 15-year warranty, modularity (expandable up to 45 kWh), attractive design, and available mobile app. I went with a 6-kW hybrid inverter (I think we can get solar panels) and two 5-kWh batteries. In retrospect, I should have gone for three or four, but I’ll get into that later.
The EcoFlow PowerOcean sports a sleek gray metal finish, and is only 188 millimeters (around 7.5 inches) deep. It’s a bit unsightly, but it’s great if you can put it in a garage or basement as this will also help with thermal performance, although the PowerOcean also has heaters to prevent reduced performance in cold weather.

Setting up my EcoFlow PowerOcean was a breeze. My current EV (Intelligent Octopus Go) provides cheap electricity between 11:30 pm and 5:30 am, so I have a full battery at that time, and it starts to discharge every morning at 5:31 am. We are a family of four, and I work from home.
