Mexico opened the World Cup with a win over South Africa. So where is Saudi Arabia?
Although the Saudi Arabian national team was not present at the opening of the 2026 World Cup in America, Canada and Mexico, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia left a clear mark in this opening.

The Saudi Al-Ekhbariya TV channel reported that Saudi industry was present at the Azteca Stadium with 4,000 square meters of advanced technical fabrics covering the stadium for the opening game.
Abdullah Al-Harbi, CEO of the Saudi company that manufactures these fabrics, said they are made from PVC-coated polyester yarns and are used in structural tension projects at airports, stadiums, stations and projects around the world.
Al-Harbi explained that the Saudi company competed with five international companies with more than 50 years of experience to supply fabrics for this stadium, and was able to beat them all.
It is noteworthy that the actual presence of Saudi Arabia in the World Cup will begin at dawn next Tuesday, when the “Greens” will meet Uruguay in the first round of the group stage at the “Hard Rock” stadium in the American city of Miami.
