New Zealand stars Leah Tahuhu and Sophie Devine have confirmed they will retire at the end of this summer’s Women’s T20 World Cup.
All-rounder Devine, 36, retired from one-day internationals after last year’s 50-over tournament and has represented the White Ferns 310 times in both formats since his debut in 2006.
Since starting his career initially as a bowler, Devine has become one of the world’s leading all-rounders with 3,587 runs and 128 wickets in T20Is.
The 35-year-old fast bowler Tahuhu has earned more than 200 caps and both were instrumental in New Zealand’s surprise T20 World Cup win in the UAE in 2024.
Their exit from the international game will see New Zealand undergo a significant change, as fellow veteran Suzy Bates confirmed last week He will also retire After their efforts to regain the title.
This trio has been the backbone of the New Zealand team for the last 15 years.
“It is a rare and special occasion to have three of our senior players end their careers in the same tournament,” said head coach Ben Sayre.
“All three have had their own careers and have given so much to this team and the game in general.”
