Suspension and fine.. Asian shocks Al-Ahly star with severe punishment

The Asian Football Confederation has handed one of Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ahly stars a major shock with a powerful penalty amid the events of the AFC Champions League elite final against Japan’s Machida.

Al Ahli won the Asian title for the second time in a row by defeating the Japanese champions with an unanswered goal by Firas Al-Brykan.

The match saw left back Zakaria Hawsau sent off in the 68th minute of the second half after he attacked one of the players of the Japanese national team.

Accordingly, the Asian Football Confederation announced that Zakaria Hawsawi will be suspended for 3 games from the next round of the tournament and fined $2,000.

The decision came as a shock to Zakaria Hawsawi, days after he was dropped from Saudi Arabia’s squad for the 2026 World Cup finals.
