Kieran Trippier is considering tearing up his contract with Wolves after sacking Rob Edwards.
The 35-year-old is angry and feels betrayed by the wolves. Edwards’ stay in charge was key to his decision to join the club last week.
Trippier was shocked to learn of Edwards’ sacking on Thursday morning and was told by someone outside the club just two days after he was paraded as Wolves’ marquee summer signing.
We also understand that Edwards himself found out the news from a family member, not the club.
Trippier canceled a medical and signing holiday for the Wolves this week.
Edwards was desperate to sign defender and striker Raul Jimenez. Trippier chose Wolves over many other clubs.
The defender originally signed a pre-contract so joined Wolves on July 1, when his contract at Newcastle expired.
As a result he is currently considering his options.
Edwards was surprisingly fired this week, with news of his departure appearing on social media late Wednesday night.
Cesar Peisoto, who is currently in charge of Portuguese club Gil Vicente, is going to be appointed as the new head coach of Wolves.
Sky Sports News Edwards and his coaching staff were said to be shocked by the news of their firing late Wednesday night and angry at the way it was communicated to them.
Buoyed by the recent signings of Trippier and Jimenez, they were preparing for next season in the Championship as usual.
Sky Sports News Wolf has been contacted for a response.
