The Spanish team dreams of the second world champion title
Spain have received a double boost ahead of next Monday’s game against Cape Verde to kick off Group H at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
As the Spanish “Cadena Ser” network informs, the two wingers, Lamine Yamal and Neko Williams, are ready to participate in the opening match of “La Roja”.
In numbers, Morocco and Brazil are the strongest in the World Cup group stage
A security lapse puts Argentina’s players at risk at the World Cup
But the network says that the participation of Yamal and Williams may be limited at first and from the bench to avoid their risks in the first round of the group stage.
Lamine Yamal (18 years old) suffered a hamstring injury while playing for Barcelona last April, in addition to the hamstring problems that continued with him until the preparation for the World Cup.
As for Athletic Bilbao winger Neko Williams, he suffered a muscle injury at the end of the season and underwent an intensive rehabilitation program with the national team.
Spain are drawn in Group H with Cape Verde, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay.
The match against Cape Verde (who are participating in the World Cup for the first time) looks relatively easy for Spain on paper, before the match against Saudi Arabia on June 21 and then Uruguay on June 26.
