Hidden differences between the England captain and the Bayern administration
Bayern Munich fear their England striker Harry Kane will leave on a free next summer following a rift between him and the Bavarian club’s management.
Harry Kane is going to lead the England team at the 2026 World Cupwhich begins today, Thursday, knowing that the Three Lions are in Group Twelfth with Croatia, Ghana and Panama.
Harry Kane’s contract with Bayern Munich runs until June 2027 and he had a release clause that allowed him to leave this summer, but it expired weeks ago.
Although Bayern Munich are committed to the England captain’s services and do not want to sell him, given the attempts of other clubs led by Barcelona to acquire his services, everything is not as ideal as it seems, writes the German newspaper “Kicker”.
The German periodical added: “There are hidden differences between Harry Kane and Bayern Munich regarding the terms and duration of the new contract.
He noted that there are clubs with big financial resources who are closely monitoring the Harry Kane situation and his name has been linked with Barcelona in recent weeks, but the Blaugrana appear to be focusing more on Julián Alvarez (Atletico Madrid).
“Kicker” believes that England or Saudi Arabia are the two recommended destinations for Harry Kane if he leaves “Bayern”, but did not give further details.
He explained that some clubs hope to sign a contract with Kane, and that tempting offers for the striker are not excluded.
“Bavaria” of Munich, for its part, believes that it is in a strong position, because the football player did not activate the termination clause of the contract. However, Kane has just one year left on his contract and appears to have more leverage than the German club at the moment, and could leave on a free after a year or negotiate with a club of his choice in January 2027.
Notably, Harry Kane has clearly shone for Bayern Munich this season, making 51 appearances, scoring 61 goals with 7 assists and leading Bayern to a domestic double (league and cup) in addition to reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League.
