Press reports have revealed the terms of the Saudi Roshan League’s recruitment committee to sign new players or renew the contracts of old players at various clubs.

The Saudi Arabian League started attracting stars from various international leagues starting from the 2023 summer transfer window.6 months after Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo signed a contract with “Al-Nasr”.

Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiya states that the recruitment process depends on five main factors: the player’s age, level, position, productivity and suitability for future aspirations.

The paper explained that the purpose of setting these standards is to increase cost efficiency, achieve financial stability and reduce the risks of technically or financially inappropriate contracts in order to increase the quality of sports investment in the long term.

This comes at a time when some speculation is being raised about the fate of some Saudi League stars who have entered the free market, such as Croatia’s Marcelo Brozovic at Al-Nasr and Ivorian Franck Kesse at Al-Ahly.
