Derry City: The BBC will show the rest of the Candystripes’ home league games

Derry City’s remaining home games in the 2026 SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division season will be streamed live on BBC iPlayer.

In a new broadcast partnership agreed between the BBC and the League of Ireland, the Candiestripes’ remaining eight home fixtures will also be available to watch on the BBC Sport website and app.

Tiernan Lynch’s team’s away games will continue to feature live commentary on BBC Radio Foil and BBC Sound.

The action begins this Friday, June 12, when Derry City welcome second-placed Bohemians to Celtic Park (19:45 BST) as they seek their first league win since the end of April and improve on their current position of sixth in the table.

“BBC Sport NI is really looking forward to this new partnership with the League of Ireland which will bring Derry City’s home matches to viewers on BBC iPlayer for the first time,” said BBC Sport NI Executive Editor Neil Brittain.

“We are always looking for opportunities to bring sports fans to Northern Ireland, and the best of the action across the UK on our platform.

“This new deal means that by extending access through BBC iPlayer, we are ensuring that even more fans can watch Derry City, discover the League of Ireland and enjoy high-quality football coverage wherever they are.”

League of Ireland director Mark Scanlon hailed the partnership as ensuring “more fans than ever before can access and enjoy our matches”.

“This is an exciting step for the League of Ireland and Derry City to partner with such a well-known platform as BBC iPlayer,” he said.

“The growth in interest and engagement with our league is accelerating, and this partnership with BBC Sport NI will ensure more fans than ever can access and enjoy our matches.

“This agreement strengthens our presence in the UK market while maintaining LOITV’s global reach and showcasing the quality of the SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division to audiences at home and abroad.”

Eric White will be on commentary for Friday’s game alongside former Derry City striker Liam Coyle.
