He was re-elected for a new term until 2030
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has been dealt a heavy blow by the Spanish judiciary, days after being re-elected for a new term until 2030.
Perez made a lot of promises during his election campaign, be it with the first team or other matters outside the green rectangle.
As the “AS” newspaper informs, today, Wednesday, the Supreme Court stopped the plans of “Real Madrid” to hold concerts in the “Santiago Bernabeu” stadium.
Just a week after Florentino Pérez categorically declared: “We will hold concerts”, the club came to a dead end.
The club filed an appeal to cancel the decision preventing the concerts, but the Supreme Court rejected it, so the case will return to the Administrative Court, which will make a final decision.
Today, the First Chamber of the Administrative Court made a decision stating that the evidence is insufficient and there is no legal basis for creating a judicial precedent. Accordingly, the court rejected the appeal and returned the case to Madrid’s Administrative Court No. 31, which will decide whether the regulations and licenses allow concerts to be held in the stadium.
The ruling came just a week after the announcementFlorentino Perez Allowing the concerts to return, he announced. “We won in court, and we will hold concerts. We have the support of the municipality and the governor’s office, which will establish special regulations, for example, the concerts can end at eleven in the evening.”
Shortly after, Miguel Angel García Martín, the spokesman for the regional government of Madrid, announced. “We do not make improvisational regulations.”
This decision is a setback for Real, but the future will tell if it is a final defeat or just a temporary stalemate.
