Roy Keane has revealed he had a “nice chat” with Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes following a recent row over the Premier League’s assist record.

“And we had a nice, mature conversation. It was nice. A nice chat.
“I like to keep boundaries with players. I don’t want to talk to players or their agents every few weeks, I don’t want to go down that road, but every now and then a player can reach out, so it was important that I spoke to him.
“There’s been a lot going on and a lot of reporting. He’s obviously a big player for United, I’m an ex-United player and the idea of this communication and proper conversation, I’ve really enjoyed it. Hopefully he has too.
“Nice chat about something and I felt better afterwards.”
