Rankings of jerseys of teams participating in the World Cup
International companies specializing in the sportswear industry are entering a special race to provide the best designs for the jerseys that the teams will wear at the World Cup, hoping to combine national identity with an attractive modern touch.
Despite the great effort put into the design of these jerseys, fan reactions vary from team to team. Some designs are admired by fans and experts and become timeless icons, while others are widely criticized or ridiculed.
Many teams wore new jerseys in the World Cup preparatory friendlies, which start tomorrow, Thursday, against Mexico and AAU.
The Athletic newspaper evaluated the home jerseys of 48 teams participating in the World Cup and ranked them from worst to best.
The newspaper chose Croatia’s jersey in last place, while Ghana’s jersey was ranked first, while Morocco’s and Saudi Arabia’s jerseys came in fifth and sixth respectively.
and:The magazine commented on the Moroccan jersey “Congratulations to Puma because most of the other manufacturers whose teams participated in the Africa Cup of Nations provided them with similar kits while Puma’s teams wear brand new kits,” he said.
“This particular outfit is a masterpiece, with a standout collar, great color and exquisite embroidery inspired by traditional Moroccan fabric designs. Maybe someone will like this kit enough to give it a go at another Africa Cup of Nations.”
As for Saudi Arabia’s shirt, the paper said it was excellent and gorgeous, relying on decorations inspired by the game Tetris, which appeared to be inspired by the country’s “traditional art” but with a “modern touch”.
The highlight of the report was the analysis of the jersey of the Egyptian national team, which was ranked 44th (last among the Arabs). “This kit is probably the funnest one in this World Cup. Puma seems to have tried to incorporate some iconic imagery associated with Egypt. It opened a Wikipedia page for Egypt and cleverly noted the presence of the pyramids there.”
“But they also somehow managed to make it look like those Facebook memes. All of this doesn’t necessarily make it a bad outfit…just a fun outfit. Which was probably not their intention,” he added.
As for the rest of the Arab teams, Tunisia’s jersey was ranked (24th), Iraq (25th), Jordan (28th), Qatar (39th) and Algeria (41st).
In the overall rating, the Ghana jersey is followed by the Brazilian jersey in second place, then England (third) and Germany (fourth).
