Anthropic releases its first version of the Mythos-class Claude Fable

Anthropic only he announced Claude Fable 5, a new version of AI that is said to be the most powerful version ever made available.

The company is also releasing Claude Mythos 5, but it has given away more information on what that means. In a blog post, Anthropic said the Mythos 5 is a similar model to the Fable 5, “but with enhanced security in some areas.” Meanwhile, the availability seems to be gradually decreasing an expanding group of privileged institutions for Claude Mythos Preview via Anthropic’s – not completely water – private Project Glasswing Initiative. Those users will be able to upgrade to Mythos 5, Anthropic said, adding that it plans to “extend access over time through a trusted security program.”

Anthropic did not respond to the report Seaside‘ a request for comment explaining how the model relates to the Claude Mythos Preview or why the model is numbered “5” when it appears that no Mythos or Fable models were previously released.

The prices of both models are much higher than its predecessor – twice Claude Opus 4.8 prices, though, are half of what users pay for the Mythos Preview – at $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens, Anthropic said.
