Lancashire chief executive Daniel Gidney will step down at the end of the year to retire after 14 years in the role.
Gidney, who joined the Red Roses in November 2012 and the club recently lost its Test match status, was in charge during a period that saw a £75m redevelopment of Old Trafford as well as the building of their second ground at Farrington.
However, his departure comes amid a backlash among a number of former players, including David Lloyd and Paul Allott, who have expressed concerns about how the club is being run.
“Throughout my tenure, I have been keenly aware of my responsibilities as a custodian of the club and have always aimed to leave it in a stronger position than what I inherited,” he said.
“Highlights include hosting major matches such as Ashes Tests and World Cup fixtures, redeveloping Emirates Old Trafford, seeing both our men’s and women’s teams win trophies and building Farrington as our new high-performance facility.”
