Amazon Prime Day 2026 is approaching, and it is possible that you may have questions about the sale. When does it start? Why in June and not July? And, most importantly, when will the agreements be in place? We have definitive answers to these questions, and we’ll have more Prime Day information coming soon as Amazon offers more.
Amazon Prime Day 2026 officially begins on June 23, 2026 at 12:01AM PT, and ends on June 27, 2026 at 12:01AM PT. Some items will be discounted for the entire period, or for as long as they remain in the store, while others will only take a small amount during the four-day sale. In his own story for Prime Day 2026 time, Amazon has announced that special sales will be at 12AM, 8AM, and 1PM PT each day of the sale.
Although there have been exceptions, Prime Day used to happen in July. So, what about the latest change? Amazon’s Jamil Ghani said Reuters that the decision came amid a series of major events that continue beyond its regular launch in July. “This year, we have the (FIFA) World Cup (…) We also have the 250th anniversary of US independence, so we decided that this week (from June 22) was the best week to do Prime Day,” Ghani said.
The the release of initial contracts is already underwayand Amazon is showing ads for home essentials and Amazon devices like Kindle devices and Ring cameras. It’s safe to assume that there will be a few promotions before Prime Day, and we’re bringing them to you, so stay tuned.
While there may be promotions available to all shoppers, Amazon Prime members will have access to more discounts. If you’ve never signed up for Prime, you can request a free 30-day trial.
Young people and students you can get six months of Prime membership for free, after which you’ll be charged $7.49 per month if you want to continue (or $69 per year if you want to pay annually) with account sharing limits. People who are receiving government assistance can apply Amazon Access discounts on certain products, including Prime membership.
Some retailers may drop prices through Prime Day to meet or come close to Amazon. We’ll be keeping a close eye on online ads and let you know if someone beats Amazon’s price, or starts a similar sale.
Currently, no major retailers are offering Prime Day price comparisons on Amazon. Best Buy they often offer the same price as Amazon, but Prime Day deals may not qualify because they are advertised as limited, or require a Prime membership. Neither Objectives or Walmart offer similar prices to competitors.
There are many things we hope to discount on Prime Day, and we use tools like Camels Camels tracking prices. When the specs match or exceed what we’ve seen on our favorite tech, we’ll tell you about it. Of course, you can track price history for items this way.
Amazon makes this easy with its “Alexa for Shopping” price tracker (accessible by clicking “price history” next to the item’s price), which is great for quick searches, but in our experience it doesn’t appear on every item, and it seems to provide up to a year of price history. On the other hand, CamelCamelCamel allows you to see how the prices are returning to everything the time of discovery of the object, which is good for a little historical research.
Usually, yes, though not always. When an item is discounted on Prime Day, it usually sticks at that price for the rest of the sale. However, there will be some occasions – Lightning Sales, for example – when deep discounts may be available for a limited time.
Well, that’s something we can tell you more more in the coming weeks. But we’re always looking forward to Apple products, like AirPods, as well as other earbuds and headphones. Video games, TVs, monitors, and computer peripherals also see big discounts. Everything you want to buy in Black Friday before the holiday should be discounted during Amazon’s June event.
