One of Arsenal’s prominent players will miss participating in the 2026 World Cup with his country’s national team.
The Dutch team was officially announced “Arsenal” defender Yurian Temper is out of the lineupfrom the list of football players participating in the World Cup due to a thigh injury.
The right-back’s last appearance for Arsenal came when he came on as a substitute in the Champions League final, which his side lost to Paris Saint-Germain.
Temper will leave the camp of the Dutch national team today, Monday, after playing the team’s last friendly warm-up match with the Uzbekistan national team.
Dutch national team coach Ronald Koeman invited “Sunderland” defender Lujarel Gertrude to replace the injured player in the team.
The Dutch national team said in its official statement about Timber. “The 24-year-old defender has not recovered sufficiently from his hamstring injury to allow him to be medically safe for the World Cup.”
“Based on consultations with the medical staff, it was decided that after the match against Uzbekistan, Timber will leave the training camp of the national team in New York.”
The Netherlands will open their World Cup campaign against Japan on June 14, before facing Sweden and Tunisia in the tournament.
