Fantasy Women’s Basketball Guard Ranking Tier: Backcourt Plan for Your Draft

Just like the previous exercise with us front and centerFor comparison, let’s break down the guard positions into tiers ranking, guess and opportunity. To recap, we like to group together similar players to identify our draft day strategy. If the player you target is taken by another fantasy manager, you know you can grab the next player from the same level and get the same level of production. On the other hand, if everyone is taken from a level, you can look at other positions with your pick without reaching a player you don’t want this early, and then come back to guards later in the round.

While the draft is not the end of the roster-building process, it is certainly an important one. Use guard levels in conjunction with our frontcourt levels to plan your drafts Practice with many Mock draft As you can — and check out Expert Mock Draft — to make sure you’re ready for draft day.

Level 1

Caitlin Clarke
Paige Bueckers
Kelsey Plum
Sabrina Ionescu
Skylar Diggins

The line separating the second from the top tier is blurred this season. Clark may be on a similar level based on his lofty projections and presence in the No. 1 fantasy pick conversation, but he’s coming off a season-ending injury, and there’s a legitimate belief that the reigning Rookie of the Year Bookers could challenge him for fantasy points this season. In our estimation, Plum (in total fantasy points) and Ionescu (in fantasy points per game) are on par with Booker. Diggins represents the last player in this tier, though his projections reflect that Jackie Young Because Diggins has had more ups and downs as Sky’s new superstar than Young, one of several Aces stars.

Level 2

Jackie Young
Kelsey Mitchell
Alisha Gray
Sonya Citron
Arik Ogunbowale
Courtney Williams
Ryan Howard

At the top of this tier are two players who are supporting stars of MVP candidates, along with Wilson alongside Young and Mitchell Clark for the Fever. We have a set of teammates at this level, with Gray and Howard forming one of the most dynamic backcourts in the league. Ogunbowale is an explosive producer on the wings and will play alongside two other guards in the top three tier of Bueckers and Rookie. Benefit today. Citron comes in looking to build off a stellar rookie campaign, while Williams can be relied upon more early in the season with teammates. Nafisa Collier He will recover from the injury at least until June.

Level 3

Chelsea Gray

Veronica Burton

Kahleh Tama

As mentioned above, Fudd, the No. 1 2026 WNBA draft pick, will play her rookie season alongside two other star guards in Bueckers and Ogunbowale. Williams will slot alongside fellow rookie Myles Lynx. Gray returns for another season as the engine of the WNBA champion Aces, while Burton had a breakout last season for the expansion Valkyries and will look to build on that. The player can surpass his level, though, in Tama. Copper was a Tier 2, borderline Tier 1 player at this time last season and with former teammate Satou Sabali Now playing in New York we might get a bounce-back elite performance from Copper.

Level 4

Marina Mabrey
Ariel Atkins
Jewel Lloyd
Kayla McBride
Natasha Megh
Brittany Sykes

Mabrey and Sykes should have big roles in the expansion Toronto weather. Atkins has been a consistent performer in a variety of situations over many seasons and should bring a similar level of production to the Sparks. Cloud is currently unsigned, but had a big campaign with the Liberty last season and should be productive wherever he lands. Lloyd is the biggest wild card at this level after a relatively underwhelming first season with the Aces that ultimately culminated in a championship. If he’s more comfortable in his role this season, Lloyd still has the talent that made him a top-tier producer over several seasons with the Storm.

Erica Wheeler
Sania River

We get a mix of veterans, second year players and rookies at this level. Rivers will look to build off an up-and-down rookie campaign with a big role in the rebuild Connecticut Sun team
