Luis de la Fuente, coach of the Spanish national team, spoke about the condition of the injured football players in America, Canada and Mexico days before the start of the World Cup.
Luis de la Fuente spoke to the press at Cuahtemoc Stadium in Puebla, Mexico. ahead of tomorrow morning’s friendly against Peru.
“Nico, Lamine and Victor have stuck to their recovery timelines. They would be training intensively for the next few days. If their progress continues like this, I think they will be ready for the start of the World Cup.”
He continued. “The advices of doctors and bodybuilders made us believe that they will not participate, if there are no failures, they can be ready on the 15th of the month. It is more difficult at the beginning, but I believe that all three will be ready.”
He continued. “The three players who remained in Chattanooga have committed to the expected timeframe. Each of them has its own recovery plan. Lamin injury varied, as did its duration. But the most important thing is that in the waiting period he is ready for selection.”
Recently, Spain midfielder Xavi caused a stir in the La Roja camp, days before the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, after witnessing a strong intervention by his colleague Rodri during one of the post-training sessions.
