Stronger than crises and more powerful than remedies. Peres’ empire crushes Riquelme’s “democracy”.

Florentino Perez decided the presidential race of “Real Madrid” in the elections held yesterday, Sunday, because he defeated his rival Enrique Riquelme.

Perez received 65% of the members’ votes, ensuring he will remain in charge of Real Madrid until 2030, his eighth term at the helm of one of the world’s biggest clubs.

Official figures released by the club showed Perez with 21,741 votes to businessman Enrique Riquelme’s 11,814, indicating the high level of confidence the current president has among the club’s fans.

Peres won unopposed in the 2009, 2013, 2017, 2021 and 2025 elections. His current term was due to end in 2029 before he decided to hold snap elections, which he won at Riquelme’s expense.
