Lewis Hamilton said it was “amazing” to have Kim Kardashian’s support at the Monaco Grand Prix as his Ferrari resurgence continued with another second-place finish.
Hamilton moved into second place in the drivers’ championship ahead of George Russell – his highest position since 2021 – by finishing second in the principality on Sunday to a dominant Kimi Antonelli, who leads by 66 points.
Hamilton was supported in the Monaco paddock on Saturday and Sunday by Kardashian, who was attending her first race since the pair began dating earlier this year.
“It’s amazing for him to come out and have the support this weekend,” Hamilton said.
“But, you know, with my friends, incredible turnout, just overall, people.
“Having good people around you and good people supporting you is amazing and she does that for me every day.”
While the impressive Antonelli proved to be in a league of his own to maintain Mercedes’ unbeaten start, Hamilton drove strongly into second to lead team-mate Charles Leclerc.
Part of Hamilton’s luck came several times earlier in the race when, during a second pit stop under a safety car following Lance Stroll’s crash, he was able to serve a five-second penalty for a pit-lane speeding violation collected at his first stop, without threatening to lose a place to Lecleurck as the team behind him.
After no podium finishes in his first 24 races for Ferrari last year, in a turbulent first season in red following his move from Mercedes, Hamilton now has three starts from six in 2026 and leads Leclerc in both qualifying and the race.
He said Sky Sports F1: “Many, many thanks to my team because I have finally come from such a horrible year last year to a position where I am rekindling the passion and faith they had in me when I first joined.
“After the really big slump we had last year, it’s great to see them fight back. They’re doing great. We’ve got a lot of work to do to close that gap.”
Hamilton also reserved special praise for his successor at Mercedes, the in-form Antonelli, who has now won five races in a row and became the youngest winner of the prestigious Monaco race at 19 on Sunday.
“Kimi was amazing today. He was amazing all weekend,” Hamilton said.
“Mercedes has obviously been a bit ahead of everyone for quite a while and we haven’t been able to match them. He’s done a fantastic job and I’m very grateful to have been able to witness his moment – and this is his moment.
“So I’m really grateful that I can be there and share and see that.”
