Doubts surround the inclusion of Uruguayan Ronald Araujo, Barcelona star, in his country’s World Cup opener against Saudi Arabia.
Uruguay is in Group H of the World Cup alongside Spain, Saudi Arabia and Cape Verde.
As “Mundo Deportivo” informs, Araujo did not participate in the last training before leaving for the United States of America with the rest of his teammates.
He explained. “Araujo has not trained as he has been suffering from muscle spasms, so he may be rested as a precaution against Saudi Arabia.”
In addition to this physical problem, Araujo also suffered from the flu, which caused him to run high fevers, which also prevented him from being in top physical condition.
In light of this situation, the Uruguayan press notes that Araujo may start the match against Saudi Arabia from the bench, while Guillermo Varela will take his place in the starting line-up.
Araujo is expected to be fully recovered in the coming days for the second match against Cape Verde, as well as the end of the group stage against Spain.
