“Barcelona” is currently busy with a deal for Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, who will replace the departure of Polish Robert Lewandowski.
In parallel, and given the strong negotiating position enjoyed by Atletico Madrid, Barcelona are developing a list of options in anticipation of Alvarez’s arrival failing.
Among these names, Uruguayan forward Darwin Nunez, who currently plays for Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia, whose contract is extended until the summer of 2028, stands out.
“Mundo Deportivo” newspaper reported that Nunez’s name was raised during the negotiations of the players’ agent, Jorge Mendes, when he spoke to Al Hilal about Joao Cancelo.
Some media reported that Al Hilal and Nunez had reached a preliminary agreement to terminate the contract by mutual agreement, which would allow him to leave without transfer fees.
