Germany secured a 2-1 win over World Cup co-hosts USA in both teams’ final warm-up match.
Kai Havertz’s early goal for Germany was canceled out by Anthony Robinson’s stunning volley before Julian Nagelsmann’s winner was Leroy Sane’s winner.
“I’m happy with everyone’s performance,” said US coach Mauricio Pochettino, who believed his side were “unfortunate” to lose.
“We played one of the most important teams in the world. I think we have to be happy with that.”
The United States will begin their World Cup campaign against Paraguay on June 12, while Germany, who have won nine straight matches, will begin with a game against Curacao on June 14.
Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann said his team’s win against the USA was “a perfect test for us both in terms of the weather and the opposition”.
