A special season and great offers await
Moroccan international Azedine Ounahi is set to officially bid farewell to his club Girona as the summer transfer window approaches.
Onahi stood out for Girona and deserved moral credit as he won the Catalan team’s best player award.
Morocco’s Radio Mars quoted what it described as “sources closely linked to the Girona club” as saying the management had taken the decisive decision to ditch a group of its most famous stars following their relegation to the second division.
He confirmed that the massive financial storm that will face the team after relegation from La Liga will force Girona to make radical moves to their budget, which will see a group of top-paid key players led by Onahi, along with Viktor Tsygankov and Arnau Martinez, leave.

The club’s budget is expected to drop from €75 million to around €37 million, making it almost impossible to keep players on huge wages as part of an ambitious plan to restore financial balance and rebuild the squad on a new, stronger footing.
Onahi’s future hangs in the balance, whether he continues in the Spanish league or moves on to new adventures abroad, at a time when rumors are mounting that old European clubs, led by English side Manchester City, want to acquire his services.
