Marcos Llorente, the star of the Spanish national team and “Atletico” Madrid, predicted both sides of the final of the 2026 World Cup.
Rue20 Español published Llorente’s statements during an interview with Sport TV Portugal, where he said:
He added: “Portugal will finish the World Cup as the runner-up, and the title will go to the Spanish El Matador.”
Llorente expressed his wish that his countryman Lamine Yamal will win the best player award of the World Cup, while he believes that the best goalkeeper will be Unai Simon.
The Atletico Madrid star also referred to the Moroccan national team as one of the biggest surprises at the 2026 World Cup, highlighting the level of the Atlas Lions in recent years.
Llorente confirmed that he really likes the game of the Moroccan national team and believes that the team is capable of performing well in the tournament.
He concluded. “Maybe many people don’t see him as one of the main candidates, but I believe that Morocco can go far in the World Cup.”
