Olmo challenges Europe. The Champions League will return to Barcelona
Spanish star Dani Olmo, FC Barcelona playmaker, has made a series of decisive statements that have ended much of the talk surrounding his future, sending a message of reassurance to Blaugrana fans and re-examining his ambitions for the upcoming season with the team.
In an interview with Spain’s Mundo Deportivo, Olmo confirmed that he is now experiencing his best technical and physical period after overcoming a nightmare start, commenting: “I feel very comfortable, especially in the second half of this season. again, but now I feel great and freer and freer on the pitch and I think that’s reflected “Obviously in my performance.”
To allay the concerns of Catalan fans after his name was linked with Mikel Arteta’s desire to bring him to England’s Arsenal in the current summer Mercato, the Spanish star said in a categorical tone: I’m staying here and I don’t think about leaving“.
Olmo recalled his emotional memories with Barca after the last European Championship, revealing that the negotiation scenes started to get serious soon after the tournament. “When my agents called me and said: “Dani, we didn’t want to disturb you during the national team camp, but know that Barcelona is moving with great force and this time they are seriously pursuing you. It was only then that I began to believe it, but the decisive step that showed me their real desire was the official visit of the sporting director Deco that I wanted there.”
The Spanish playmaker did not hide it The weight of the Catalan shirt and the pressures that come with it“The most difficult and brutal thing about playing at a club of Barcelona’s size is the pressure to win everything and win every game. It’s the most difficult challenge, but it’s also something you get used to quickly because the minimum expected from the fans is to win and the pressure that the club and the fans put on is the same pressure we put on ourselves as players seeking glory.”
As for the lack of a Champions League title from the team’s coffers in the past two years, despite domestic titles, Olmo emphasized the team’s near European glory, saying: Because of this we felt extremely disappointed and bitter against Inter Milan and this year against Atlético Madrid because in my opinion they were not better than us and we could have been in the final if it weren’t for those little things and we are absolutely convinced that the title will return to our coffers sooner rather than later and that will be our absolute goal.
At the end of the speech, Olmo drew his dream map for the next two years until the finals of Euro 2028, setting a very ambitious ceiling for his contribution with club and national team. “Two years later, I would like to sit here to tell you the story of how we won the World Cup title this summer in the USA and how we managed to win the Champions League and grab the historic sixth star with Barcelona, in addition to winning more Spanish titles;
