10 players on the verge of leaving
Management at Wydad Club are set to make major changes to the squad as the curtain comes down on the current season as part of a plan to rebuild and turn the club around after a season that did not live up to the aspirations of the Reds fans.
Reports at the club suggest that a number of players are close to leaving the team in the upcoming summer transfer window, either due to their inability to secure the expected technical addition or their contracts nearing the end of the season, making their continuation with Wydad unlikely.
According to reports Moroccan website “Le360 Sport”.The preliminary list of players nominated to leave the Red Fort includes Hamza Al-Sahi, Mohamed Boushouari, Pedrinho, Arthur, Al-Rahi, Al-Muttaraj, Hakim Ziyech, Naim Biar, Wissam Ben Yedder and Nabil Khali.
The possibility of expanding this list remains possible in the coming weeks, pending technical and administrative decisions that will be made after the end of the season.
Wydad fans have received much of the club’s signings in recent periods with great optimism, hoping to build a squad that can regain their footing locally and on the continent and make a strong return to the podium.
However, what was achieved on the pitch fell far short of the ambitions and expectations as the team suffered from a lack of cohesion and technical stability in many matches, which raised many questions about the effectiveness of the recruitment policy and the mechanisms for managing the contract case within the club.
The administration of Wydad seems to be heading for a pivotal phase that goes beyond the sacking of some players to include a comprehensive review of the sporting and technical options that have characterized the current season, with the aim of laying the foundations for a new, more balanced and competitive project that will bring the team back to the fore and enable it to regain its position among the top local clubs.
