A smart plan
Announces the president of “Real Madrid” and the presidential candidate Florentino Perez announced a huge, historic deal for Real next Tuesday, worth €150m If he wins the presidential elections.
According to the Spanish “Mundo Deportivo”, Perez refuses to reveal the identity of the football player before this date for specific reasons, the most important of which is the desire to create excitement and anticipation before the election process to be held next Sunday.
The second and most important reason is the need for the club president to present this proposal and officially and directly notify the club of the player concerned, as this move without following official procedures exposes Perez and the current president of Madrid to an official complaint with FIFA.
FIFA clearly defines the need to maintain contractual stability between professional players and their clubs in relation to player status and transfers, particularly in Article 18 on contracts between professional players and clubs, which literally states that a club wishing to sign a professional player must notify his current club in writing before negotiations begin.
The same regulation adds that a professional player is free to sign a contract with another club only if his current contract has expired or will expire within six months, and that any violation of this provision will subject the violator to appropriate penalties.
Florentino Perez must first inform the respective club of his desire to sign the player to avoid potential fines.
Perez stated in the same interview that he had reached an agreement with Dumfries, stating that he would pay his €20 million release clause to Inter Milan, which explains why the Italian club did not need to be notified in advance. He also confirmed agreement with Konate, who joins on a free transfer, and Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho, who has a release clause in his contract with Benfica.
