Talented Barcelona is high!
It’s no longer about a rising talent or a new face in Barcelona. Lamin Yamal has become a complete economic phenomenon. At the age of eighteen, he has set his foot on top of the world transfer market, a distinction that seems unfair to rival him.
The latest report from the CIES Football Observatory has put the Barcelona striker at the top of the world’s most valuable players at a staggering €358 million, a long way ahead of second-placed Erling Holland (€227 million) and a bigger margin than Kylian Mbappe III (€166 million).
The flight is not accidental. Yamal, who is now preparing for the World Cup with Spain, completed an exceptional season in which he won the Spanish League and the Supercopa and took his goalscoring tally from 18 last season to 24 this season, with a clear improvement in numbers and impact on the pitch.
The report, which is based on a sophisticated statistical model, gives Barcelona a remarkable dominance in other positions as well. Barcelona duo Pau Kobarzi head the list of centre-backs, Pedri in midfield and goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma of Manchester City leads the list.

In terms of changes, according to the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, compared to last January’s study, Leipzig winger Jan Diomande received the biggest gain at 75 million euros, while Liverpool striker Alexander Isak suffered the biggest loss at 54 million.
On an annual basis, the picture is clearer. Diomandy is also the leader in the rise (+116 million euros), while the biggest decrease in value was witnessed by the midfielder of “Real Madrid” Jude Bellingham, who decreased by 113 million euros compared to the previous year.
