He manipulated “Real” and got a shock… Yamal chooses the best and worst match of his career

Barcelona and Spain star Lamine Yamal has revealed the best and worst matches of his football career so far.

During a video on his official YouTube channel, Yamal confirmed that Barcelona’s thrilling 4-3 win over Real Madrid in El Clasico on May 11, 2025 at the Montuyque Stadium remains a match close to his heart.

The encounter witnessed one of the most exciting matches of the season as Real Madrid took the lead with two early goals through Kylian Mbappe before Barcelona staged a stunning comeback to score 4 goals in a row through Eric Garcia, Lamine Yamal and Rafinha who scored a brace before Mbappe completed his personal hat-trick without hindering his team.

Yamal played a key role in the Catalan victory, scoring a fine equalizer and setting up a goal for Rafinha with a special pass, confirming that the match represented his best footballing moment so far.

On the other hand, the Barcelona star did not hesitate to pick the 2025 UEFA Nations League final against Portugal as the worst match of his career.

Spain lost the title to Portugal on penalties after a marathon encounter, on a night when Yamal was not at the level he was used to with La Roja.

The match saw the end of a remarkable run for the youngster as he failed to score or assist in a major qualifier for Spain for the first time, leaving the match disappointed to miss out on the chance to win the continental championship.

The defeat was also a negative number for Yamal, after he became the youngest player in the tournament’s history to lose in a UEFA Nations League final, which explains his selection as the worst match of his career despite his young age and many successes in recent years.
