Arne Slott was surprised by the decision to sack him from Liverpool just a year after the club won the Premier League title in his first season.

Slott was sacked on 30 May after a disappointing 2025-26 season in which Liverpool failed to win any trophies and narrowly qualified for the Champions League after finishing fifth in the league.
