The Polish forward will leave Barcelona next summer.
“Al Hilal” club, after the last negotiations with “Fenerbahce”, made a surprise decision to acquire “Barcelona” forward Polish Robert Lewandowski in the upcoming summer transfer period.
Recent media reports have revealed that the Turkish club have held talks with the Polish striker to sign him on a free transfer next summer following his move from Barcelona.
At the same time, Saudi journalist Abdulaziz Al-Muraisal confirmed through his personal account of the “X” website that the “Al-Hilal” club has officially decided not to sign Lewandowski next summer.
Lewandowski was one of three candidates to strengthen Al Hilal’s ranks next summer, following Nigerian Victor Osimene, the Galatasaray forward, and Argentine Lautaro Martinez, the Inter Milan forward, according to media reports.
“Al Hilal” wants to strengthen the attack in the new seasonespecially after Uruguay striker Darwin Nunes failed to prove his worth after joining from Liverpool last summer, and his closeness to leaving the ‘leader’ castle.
Although French striker Karim Benzema was signed from Al-Ittihad last January, he suffered a number of injuries that kept him out of several matches during the season, which also led to speculation of his departure.
Notably, Al Hilal failed to win the Saudi League title for the second season in a row and also bid farewell to the elite AFC Champions League in the round of 16, but managed to win the Two Holy Mosques Cup.
