The flying full-back performed at an exceptional level last season
Lance full-back Saud Abdul Hameed received a pleasant surprise ahead of his Saudi Arabia debut at the 2026 World Cup finals in America, Canada and Mexico.
The new coach of the Saudi Arabian national team, the Greek Giorgos Donis, chose Saud Abdul Hamid in the final list of “greens” for the final round of the World Cup.to be the only professional player with him.
According to the Saudi newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat, the website “Transfer Market” increased the market value of the Saudi right defender from 5 to 9 million euros, a few days before the start of the World Cup.
The move comes as part of a periodic site review recently carried out in the French league, and has resulted in the market value of a number of players increasing, including Saud Abdul Hamid.
The 26-year-old has thus become the most expensive Saudi player at the moment, with twice the market value of his closest follower, Al-Qadisiya playmaker Musab Al-Jaweer, who is valued at €4.5m.
However, this large difference is expected to decrease with the update of the Saudi League players’ market value, as it could lead to an increase in the value of Al-Jaweer, as well as Al-Ahly striker Firas Al-Brykan, who is worth €4 million.
It is noteworthy that Saud Abdul Hameed was outstanding for Lens last season, which helped them win the French Cup for the first time in history and finish second in the championship behind Paris Saint-Germain.
