A press release claims that today, Tuesday, Manchester United and Arsenal have entered the race to include the West Ham star in the upcoming summer Mercato.
Both clubs are looking to strengthen their ranks ahead of next season, with Arsenal defending the Premier League title and Manchester United hoping to challenge for the top spot.
It was reported by several media “Paris Saint-Germain” is interested in the services of “West Ham” midfielder Matheus Fernandez.
But The Sun newspaper confirmed today that Arsenal and Manchester United have entered the race for Matthew Fernandez, with relegated West Ham valuing the player at £80m.
The 21-year-old Portuguese midfielder has fallen down the pecking order for the past two seasons with Southampton before joining West Ham last summer.
Despite West Ham’s poor form, Fernandez has impressed and is expected to leave the club this summer.
Premier League champions Arsenal have shown strong interest in Fernandes, in addition to Aston Villa and England striker Morgan Rodgers.
However, United have also identified the West Ham man as a potential signing as Michael Carrick looks to overhaul their midfield in the summer.
West Ham are reluctant to sell Fernandez, who joined from Southampton last summer for an initial £38million, but their hands are tied after the relegation.
