Busy calendar… Roshen League reveals dates for 2026-2027 season

A fiery season full of challenges awaits Saudi League clubs

The Rushen Professional League has announced the official calendar for the 2026-2027 season, an exclusive that is expected to put a lot of pressure on clubs given the many international suspensions and the Kingdom’s hosting of the 2027 Asian Cup, in addition to the participation of a number of Saudi clubs in continental and regional competitions.

The association has confirmed that the Roshen Professional League will start on August 13, 2026 and end on May 29, 2027, with a total of 34 rounds and 306 matches played over 103 actual match days.

The new calendar sees up to 80 days of downtime due to the international agenda and the hosting of the 2027 Asian Cup, when 7 Saudi clubs are set to compete abroad in 4 different tournaments, creating major challenges for the coaching staff to manage the physical workload and keep the players fit throughout the season.

As for the Guardian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup competition, the association has set the dates for the various rounds, with the 32nd round to be played between August 16 and 19, 2026, and the Round of 16 matches to be played on October 19 and 20 of the same year.

As for the quarter-finals, they will be played on 22nd and 23rd February 2027 and the semi-finals on 4th and 5th May 2027, before the tournament curtain falls on the date of the final match to be announced later.

The association also revealed the dates for the 2026 Saudi Super Cup, with the two semi-final matches on November 30 and December 1, and the final on December 4, with the new edition expected to be fiercely contested between the major Saudi clubs.

The new calendar reflects the scale of the challenges facing Saudi football next season, particularly due to the increased foreign participation of clubs and the continuation of the competitive momentum seen in the domestic competitions in recent years, making the 2026-2027 season one of the busiest and most exciting seasons in the history of the Roshen League.
