The Pixel Watch 5 may have been tampered with by… the developer of Borderlands

We may have just gotten our first look at the Pixel Watch 5 – and from an unusual source. Randy Pitchford, creator of Borderlands game license, put two pictures of the clock on X, saying that a friend found it under waterwhile scuba diving near Saint Martin, as was already said by My city.

“He noticed that the back of the watch shows that it is the Google Pixel 5, which has not been announced, not even released,” he said. Pitchford writes. “It seems to be fine. The face shows a dead battery, but it seems to have enough power to keep the correct time.” After calling to find the owner, Pitchford said someone had contacted him and had “arranged a return.” Google did not immediately respond The Verge’s ask for feedback.

Google unveils its latest Pixel devices in August. This means we’ll find out if someone actually threw the as-yet-unveiled Pixel Watch 5 into the ocean in just a few months.
