The Gunners team needs new reinforcements
Arsenal are gearing up for a summer transfer window in which they are likely to invest heavily after winning the Premier League title and reaching the Champions League final.
Arsenal won the Premier League title for the first time since 2004, but lost on penalties in the Champions League final on Saturday to Paris Saint-Germain, who won the title for the second season in a row.
Although he already has an impressive team, but…Arsenal have no intention of resting on their laurels and are looking to invest heavily again this summer.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein told TNT Sports that Arsenal are looking for four positions in particular to improve in the summer transfer window.
These positions are center forward, left winger, midfielder (six/eight) and right back.
According to English newspaper Metro, the left side of the attack has been described as a “big priority” and a position that has been under consideration for some time, with the aim of improving the performances of Leandro Trossardi and Gabriel Martinelli.
Arsenal only signed big-money striker Victor Gukeris last summer, but whether he is a long-term solution remains up for debate.
The Swede has scored 21 goals in all competitions this season but was on the bench for the Champions League final with Arteta preferring Kai Havertz up front.
Martin Zobimendi also arrived last summer and looked to have cemented his place in midfield alongside Declan Rice, but his performances dipped in the second half of the season.
The Spain international was also on the bench for Budapest, with Arteta opting for Miles Lewis-Skelley in midfield instead.
Joren Timber has had injury problems throughout his Arsenal career but looks certain to remain first choice at right-back as he has been in excellent form.
Any additions in this position would be compensation as Cristian Mosquera started against Paris Saint-Germain and is a central defender.
The newspaper noted that if a contract is signed with the left winger, it is unlikely that Martinelli and Trossard will stay at the club, as it is illogical for three players to fight for one position.
The signing of the new midfielder is also likely to spell the end of Christian Norgaard’s career at the Emirates Stadium, where the Dane has featured sparingly since his move from Brentford last year.
Signing a new striker would also make it unlikely that Gabriel Jesus will stay at Arsenal, with the Brazilian already third choice behind Gukeres and Havertz.
