Chuamini reacted to the “Valverde scandal” for the first time.

Real Madrid’s French midfielder Aurelien Choumini has for the first time publicly released details of a controversial incident with his Uruguayan teammate Fede Valverde, categorically denying media reports of a fist fight between them and holding the media responsible for exaggerating the incident.

“A lot of nonsense was said in the press, I read that there was a fight and I punched him, which is not true at all,” Chuamini said.

The 26-year-old football player added: “Of course, things happened that can be seen and heard in the mass media, but the issue was exaggerated. The most important thing is that the club was aware of what happened. A lot of things happen in the locker room that don’t reach the press.”

Chuamini refused to elaborate, stressing that his relationship with Valverde has no problems, saying: “Fede and I have a common goal, to win titles with Real Madrid, and there are no problems, and if I meet him at the World Cup, we will try to win with the French national team.
