Amanda Serrano equals knockout record with win over Cheyenne Hanson

Amanda Serrano equaled the record for most knockouts in women’s boxing history with a second-round stoppage of Cheyenne Hanson in Texas to retain her WBA and WBO featherweight titles.

The American dominated the encounter and, pinning Germany’s Hanson, 28, in the corner, unloaded a flurry of unanswered punches that stopped the fight in El Paso, Texas.

The 37-year-old, who now has 32 wins by knockout, was the first fighter to stop Hanson the distance.

In the co-main event, former UFC star Holly Hole was again narrowly defeated by Stephanie Hahn to claim the WBA lightweight title.

One judge also scored it 95-95, but the other two saw it 96-94 for the undefeated champion.

Before the fight, Holm said she wanted to make a statement and then challenge Taylor in Ireland, but Han called for that fight instead.

“The next fight I want, and I know every fighter wants, is Katie Taylor,” Han said ringside.

On the undercard, Desley Robinson retained her IBF and WBO middleweight titles with a wide unanimous decision win over Mary Spencer, while Mexican Lourdes Juarez retained her WBC light-flyweight title with a split decision over Yocasta Val.

Elsewhere, O’Shakey Foster impressed to defeat Raymond Ford by majority decision to retain his WBC super-featherweight title at the Fertitta Center in Houston.
