The coach of the Brazilian national team, Carlo Ancelotti, settled the controversy surrounding the exclusion of Neymar from the final samba list before the start of the World Cup.
Yesterday, Friday, Neymar was present at Brazil’s training, but due to his recovery from injury, he watched only without physical activity.
ESPN published the statements of the Italian coach during the press conference held tomorrow before the friendly match against Panama at the “Maracana” stadium.
Ancelotti did not want to get into a row with Santos after the Brazilian FA were sent off before the player was called up, but he expressed confidence in Neymar’s recovery, insisting he was not considering leaving him out of the World Cup squad.
Ancelotti said: “Before the call-up we received a notification from Santos that the player had a minor problem. He was called up because the technical staff thought he deserved to be called up.
“We believe that he will recover and be ready as soon as possible. He is doing well and is motivated. He will stay with us until he is recovered and available. We think he can recover in the first game or the second game. I have no doubt that we will not change anyone. These are the 26 chosen ones.”
