Pep Guardiola, 55, has left Manchester City to take on new challenges that are still unknown, although some speculation suggests he could soon take over the coaching of one of the national teams and perhaps England.

“Mundo Deportivo” newspaper published the statements of Tijani Reynders, which he made to “De Telegraaf” newspaper.

The Dutch player, who did not get the game minutes he wanted under Guardiola, said that he did not hold any grudge against the coach.

He continued. “He is a very tough coach and a football genius. It’s a pity that I only worked with him for one season.”

He added: “The coach told us that he no longer had the energy to be disappointed with players when they didn’t get selected or didn’t play. After 10 years, enough was enough and I understand that.”

He noted: “When I say he’s a tough coach, I mean it in a positive way, he tries to get the best out of every player.”
