Wigan’s win comes shortly before they take on their opponents Hull KR in the men’s final later on Saturday.
Since 2023, the men’s and women’s finals have been held at Wembley on the same day – but no side has ever won both finals.
Within the opening six minutes, Wigan were ahead courtesy of a neat and tidy set piece as they worked the ball wide to Wilson, who duly crossed.
Their clinical start was such that Wigan’s second try came from their second attack and was even better, as Jenna Fubster disturbed Hunter, who evaded Paige Travis for an easy run.
Hunter’s stunning start continued with a second try just minutes later. He raced down the left wing again to keep Wigan in check, this time exploiting gaps in the line to outrun the St Helens defenders.
A long afternoon continued for St Helens as Fubister’s high lateral pass to Ellis Derbyshire was quickly played to Salihi, who did well to keep control of the ball before getting down.
Wigan opened the half with an impressive score, as Davies dived into the right-hand corner and successfully managed to do so without a millimeter of touch.
St Helens eventually hit back as McCullum showed great strength to go down just before half time.
The first half was as punishing for Saints as it was in the 2025 Cup Final defeat to Wigan, with Izzy Rowe’s final conversion effort in the first 40, which went under the crossbar and off, the only blemish on his copybook in an otherwise excellent first half with the boot.
Wigan virtually put themselves out of sight just 44 seconds into the second half when Davies burst past a depleted St Helens defence, before Grace Banks again outclassed the St Helens defense as the Warriors threatened the 40-point mark with half an hour remaining.
Hunter barged his way to ground the ball for a sensational hat-trick with 20 minutes to play and showed great running ability in the second and fourth minutes of the afternoon half.
But Wigan didn’t give up despite their bumper score, as Wilton added their 10th try of the afternoon soon after to cap off a stunning performance.
