A Bilbao player announces a challenge
In a message that reflects determination and ambition, Athletic Bilbao winger Neko Williams has confirmed he is making steady progress in his injury recovery program, expressing his strong desire to play for Spain at the 2026 World Cup despite the possibility of missing the opening game.
Williams said in the announcements of the “El Sherenjito” program. “Well, I’m progressing step by step through the stages of recovery from the injury. I think I’m much better now. I expect I may not be ready for the first match of the World Cup, but that’s okay. I have a great desire and will continue to work on Saturday.”
The young player, who has had a difficult period due to an injury that prevented him from helping his team, Athletic Bilbao, added:
“I think we have a great team. We have proven it several times. We know how to play and what we want to achieve. We have a great coach and I’m sure that the football we played at the Euros will be played again at the World Cup.”
