Portuguese veteran Jose Mourinho has signed a contract to become the new coach of “Real Madrid” until June 2029, reports the newspaper. (athletic).
The newspaper reports that Mourinho signed the contract last week, but an official announcement will not be made until the next Real Madrid presidential election on June 7, which will pit current president Florentino Perez against his young challenger Enrique Riquelme.

He said (athletic) Perez is the one who made the decision to sign Jose Mourinho, while work is currently underway to draw up the Portuguese coach’s assistant and summer signing plan.
Real Madrid were reported to have looked at other names such as Pochettino, Allegri, Deschamps and Klopp, but Jose Mourinho was the preferred choice for Florentino Perez.
Royals president Mourinho is seen as the right man to restore discipline and strength to a team that has gone two consecutive seasons without a major championship.
