“A new lie”… Atletico Madrid return the Alvarez deal to the top

“Atletico Madrid” has again denied the rumors that “Barcelona” has made an official offer to acquire the Argentine forward Julian Alvarez.

According to the report of the famous Spanish program “El Chiringuito” on Friday morning. Barcelona make first official offer to sign Alvarez for €100m.

However, Spanish journalist Matteo Moreto, in turn, reported that “Atletico” rejected the offer of “Barcelona”.

He explained that Atletico Madrid wanted at least 130 million euros to sell Alvarez, noting that the player is expected to put pressure on his club, which could change the calculations of the deal.

In turn, the source of the Madrid club told “Marca” newspaper, commenting on this news. “It’s just another lie.”

Yesterday, Thursday, Atletico expressed its displeasure at the leaks attributed to Barcelona and the player’s agents, which they described as part of a “coordinated campaign” to destabilize the team.

After reports emerged on Friday that Joan Laporta’s administration had offered €100 million to sign Alvarez, Atletico officials vehemently denied the claim.

Far from denying the offer was received, Atletico Madrid insisted that Alvarez was “not for sale”, explaining that his contract runs until 2030 and that the €500m release clause gives the club complete peace in the event of future attempts to sign him.

Sources at the club added, according to the Madrid paper, that the administration would not explore any potential offer even if it was officially arrived, despite some who believe selling the player could be a big financial opportunity. But for now, the only confirmed fact, according to the club, is that “no one knocked on the door”.
