Daily Mail reported that “Barcelona” is preparing to submit an offer to acquire “Arsenal” defender Piero Hincapie from Ecuador.

Hincup is on loan at Arsenal from Bayer Leverkusen and his loan deal includes a £45m buyout clause, in addition to one that gives his former club 10% of future sales and a five-year deal if the buyout option is activated.

The 24-year-old defender has adapted well to Arsenal and has become a distinctive element in the London outfit, featuring at centre-back and left-back.

When asked if he intends to activate the option to buy the player permanently, Arteta commented:

Barca sporting director Deco recognizes that snapping up a player is no easy task, but he is willing to try to gauge the pulse given Barcelona’s search for a left-footed defender in the center of defence.
