Mohamed Salah’s name is back in the transfer market headlines after an Italian report revealed that the Saudi giants have entered into talks to try and convince the Egypt captain to move to the Roshan League in the near future.
According to Italian journalist Gianluigi Longari of Sport Italia, via his account on X’s website, the Jeddah Football Association is preparing a huge offer to bring the Egyptian star to its new project in an attempt to revive the old interest that emerged two summers ago when Salah was first close to joining the Saudi Arabian trial.
The move comes as Salah experiences a turning point in his career, having recently brought the curtain down on his historic nine-year journey with Liverpool, during which he won numerous individual and team championships, becoming one of the greatest players in the English club’s history.
The Egyptian star is now preparing for the World Cup with Egypt after the Pharaohs were drawn in a group with Belgium, New Zealand and Iran, with the tournament kicking off on June 11.
Salah opened the door to all possibilities regarding his future when he confirmed in statements a few days ago that he would delay deciding on his next destination until the end of the World Cup if he did not receive a suitable offer before the start of the tournament.
The Egypt captain said he had achieved everything he dreamed of with Liverpool and that he was proud of what he had given during his time at the club, noting that his departure was psychologically very difficult as he had a strong connection to the place.
He added that he will study any good offer he can get before the World Cup, while he may postpone a final decision until after the tournament if the picture is not completely clear.
Recently, Salah’s name has been linked with several clubs in Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Italy, but Al-Ittihad’s strong entry into the arena may reopen his transfer case to the Roshen League more seriously this time.
