It looks like the road to Barcelona’s first team will not be easy for young Egyptian striker Hamza Abdel Karim, despite the strong impressions he has made in his very short time at the Catalan club.

While the player gradually came closer to attracting the attention of the first-team coaching staff, Barcelona’s latest moves in the transfer market came to force a different reality.

Catalan newspaper Sport have revealed that Barcelona’s management have drawn up a clear plan for Hamza’s future, with intensive moves to strengthen the front line during the current summer Mercato.

The 18-year-old Egyptian striker has managed to stand out through the youth ranks, scoring six goals in just 10 appearances, establishing himself as one of La Masia’s most prominent attacking talents, especially as he possesses the kind of open forward that the club has lacked for years.

Although the management of the sport was convinced of his potential and decided to activate the option to buy his contract permanently, the competition in the first team seems more difficult than ever.

Sport added that the most immediate plan within Barcelona at the moment is for the player to continue at Barcelona Athletic next season to ensure his regular participation and gain more experience.

Despite this, Hamza’s future remains open to all possibilities, especially as Flick has proven in the past that he does not hesitate to give young talents a chance once they have proven their worth in training.
